The International Congress on Cognitive Linguistics is a credible scientific platform. It has been successfully held in Russia since 2006. The organizers of the Congress are the Russian Cognitive Linguists Association (ralk.info) and the Institute of Linguistics of Russian Academy of Sciences (iling-ran.ru). Originally the Congress was founded by the honoured scholars of the Russian Federation, professors Elena Samoylovna Kubryakova, Chairperson of the Presidium of the Russian Cognitive Linguists Association, and Nikolay Nikolaevich Boldyrev, President of the Russian Cognitive Linguists Association. The outstanding cognitive linguists of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin kindly hosted numerous guests, university researchers and academic scientists, from more than 50 Russian regions and 15 countries from all over the world in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012.

Later on it was the staff of Chelyabinsk State University and cognitive linguists of Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics who hosted the International Cognitive Linguistics Congress in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

The issues touched upon by the Congress participants vary from general theoretic and methodological basics of cognitive language analysis to specific aspects of studying units of linguistic levels from the cognitive point of view.
The Congress participants papers constantly focus on the issues of cognitive modelling and advanced scientific technologies, cognitive discourse researches, as well as cognitive aspects of intercultural communication, cognitive linguistics intercourse with other sciences and interdisciplinary studies.

The Congress has been held for 10 years and has turned out to be a credible interdisciplinary forum. It is aimed at affirming cognitive approach in the methodology of humanities, and realising its importance within the formation of the contemporary scientific knowledge general system. To crown it all, it combines various sciences studying cognitive processes and human consciousness.
