The educational activities of the branch are carried out in full-time, part-time and part-time forms of education at three faculties: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education - and four graduating and one basic department.
Today, the branch has formed the image of an educational institution with a modern material and technical base, a high level of innovation, professional culture, and social activity, which ensures a leading position in the educational services market.
Focusing its activities on the implementation of the national projects "Education", "Science", the branch ensures the implementation of a wide range of educational programs in socially significant areas of training: 12 educational programs of higher education and 6 programs of secondary vocational education:

More than 30 additional professional programs for advanced training and professional retraining are currently being implemented on the basis of the SOF NRU "BelSU".
More than two thousand students study in the Starу Oskol branch in full-time and part-time forms of education.
Students have at their disposal a modern educational and laboratory base: 100% of the classrooms are equipped with modern equipment (more than 600 units of office equipment, 40 interactive whiteboards and more than 300 units of computer equipment). An information and educational environment has been formed, including a library, a fund, which at the beginning of 2022 amounted to more than 165,998 items, a new database of graduation qualification works, and electronic information resources.
In 2021, the assembly hall was modernized, the territory of development center for collective work was created to organize interactive activities with social partners and employers, and new audiences were prepared for students of higher and secondary vocational education.
The branch has a museum of history, a multifunctional center, an online learning classroom, a student office, a thrifty training ground, and all conditions have been created for the development of the faculty of secondary vocational education. Students have at their disposal a swimming pool, a gym, a library, a dining room for 210 people, a buffet.

Research work in the branch is one of the most important activities of the teaching staff, graduate students and students. It includes applied research in a certain range of scientific fields, the performance of contractual scientific work, the development of project documentation, the implementation of expert opinions and the provision of advisory assistance.
The research at the branch of the NRU "BelSU" provides a complex of departments carrying out research work, including the science sector, 3 faculties, 5 departments and 7 teaching and research laboratories (theory of the Russian language, psychology, online learning and digital educational resources, geodesy, economics and business, integrated control systems, sociology and political science), as well as a 3D modeling and robotics studio, the Center for Pedagogical Education, the Center for Collective Work "Territory of Development".
In the staff of the branch: 85% of candidates and doctors of sciences; 7 scientists awarded the honorary titles "Honored School Teacher of the Russian Federation", holders of the honorary badge "Excellence in Public Education, etc.
The research cluster of the branch in the 2022-23 academic year is focused on one of the priority areas of the national technology initiative - NDP 4 Life Sciences "Man, Society, Science: Problems and Development Prospects", which is being implemented in 4 scientific areas:
The research topics reflect the scientific interests of the departmental teams. The scientific areas in which research is being conducted are integrated into the scientific schools of the Belgorod State National Research University, which makes it possible to consolidate the efforts of scientists in priority areas for the development of science and practice.
In the process of the research agenda, the tasks of network interaction with Russian and foreign universities are being solved, the mechanisms for integrating scientific applied research and educational activities are being improved, as well as the development of scientific and methodological support for the design and research activities of teachers and students of the Stary Oskol City District.
As part of the signed memorandum, the staff of the branch is actively cooperating with one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan - Pavlodar State University.

All conditions for research work, creative development and professional education of students have been created in the SOF NRU "BelSU". Every year, the branch hosts more than 100 cultural, scientific, educational, career guidance events.
In 2022, the Week of Science dedicated to the Year of Folk Art and Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Russian Federation started with the participation of young scientists from the National Research University "BelSU", scholarship holders of the President of the Russian Federation, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, a number of international competitions for innovative projects in China, Cyprus, Russia, winners of the grant program U.M.N.I.K.
Every year the number of students with high achievements in studies, science, sports and creativity increases in the branch. Much attention is paid to the development of student self-government, the Council of Students is functioning.
The branch graduate of 2022, Starikova Anastasia, was nominated for the highest award of the National Research University "BelSU" - the medal "Worthy".
Particular attention in the SOF NRU "BelSU" is paid to the formation of a healthy lifestyle of student youth through the introduction of health-saving technologies in the system of education and upbringing of students.
