The traditional test GTO standards has begun at BelSU.
The GTO standards taking (Ready for Labour and Defence) has started on “Burevestnik” Sports Centre and Svetlana Khorkina Sports Centre. Among the first participants were students of the Pedagogy Institute, the Cross-cultural Communication and International Relations Institute, the Economics and Management Institute, as well as the Medical Institute.
Alexander Voronkov is the director of BelSU GTO test center and the head of the Department of Sports Disciplines. He noted the GTO test among students and staff and faculty of the university will take place throughout the academic year on Thursdays.
The tests include a standing long jump, push–ups, a kettle bell exercise, and an abs exercise, a high / low pull-up (without jerks), swimming and electronic shooting.
As Mr. Voronkov explained, since 2023, a number of innovations have been introduced in the taking standards, for example, the number of tests was reduced from 9 to 6, four of which are mandatory.
BelSU team has been regularly participating in the GTO festivals among university students since 2018, as part of the implementation of the "Sport is life" federal project, invariably winning in each.
