The library has the most important influence on the quality of post-graduate education and exploratory learning at the University.
The Library is a modern information and education centre, the centre for innovative technologies housing an extensive stock of unique print volumes and electronic information resources. The Library stock contains more than 1 million print volumes in 27 languages.
All processes in the Library are computer-managed. The Research Library, as many other biggest university libraries in Russia, is successfully introducing the Radio Frequency Identification Technology for improving the quality of services and monitoring book movement.
You can request books in the Library through the Internet 24 hours a day.
In the Library, one can immerse in the world of digital content: 145 computer monitors in the rooms of the Library are at full disposal of its patrons. The Library offers access to the Internet in the Wi-Fi zone, as well as access to 20 million electronic resources of various databases in 8 countries, including The Institute of Physics, The Royal Society of Chemistry, and Oxford Journals (Great Britain).
The access to electronic information resources is provided through a single service point on the basis of EBSCO Discovery Service.
The scientists, teachers and students of our University place their papers in the open access University repository, thus forming a database of the English-language publications.
The Library has created a unique electronic collection The Epoch Archive dedicated to a well-known Russian philosopher, writer, and translator of the 19th century born in Belgorod Nikolai Strakhov (НиколайСтрахов).
The project received national recognition from the President of Russia as one of the best creative projects presented at the Culture and Art Contest.
The services and IT-technologies offered by the Library have a positive response from both students and teachers
The Library offers a wide range of services for comfortable work of its patrons.
The Library is open for more than 25 000 patrons from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. six days a week.
