Belgorod State National Research University Rises in the Rankings

783 universities from 74 countries were ranked this year, an increase of 20 on last year. Among Russian universities, BSNRU was ranked 43^rd. We are ranked 722^nd in the world, and at 567^th in 'International Diversity'.

For the 2018 survey, Universities were subjected to a comprehensive analysis of 20 indicators of activity in various areas, including 'Teaching', 'Research', 'International Diversity', and 'Financial Sustainability'.

Professor Oleg Polukhin, the Rector of BSNRU, explained that every year more and more universities are trying to enter the world's leading ratings, as their competitiveness in the global scientific and educational space depends on their ranking. He said that,

“In less than 25 years our university has gone from a Pedagogical Institute to a National Research University and has entered the leading world ratings. Our presence in these ratings, the annual increase in the number of foreign students, the active work of our Foundation Course Centres in China, and the increasing partnerships with European universities confirms our University's status as a provider of an international level of education and science.”

The Round University Ranking (RUR) has been published annually since 2010. Over the last nine years more than 1000 leading universities from 80 countries have taken part in the survey. The data for the RUR system is provided by Clarivate Analytics (formerly the IP&Science business of Thomson Reuters).
