A group of travelers overcame 130 kilometers of mountain roads
Tourist club ‘Condor’ of BNRU dedicated the travel around the highest mountain point in Russia and Europe - Elbrus (5642 m.) to the 115th anniversary of the formation of the united trade union of the university.
Tracking around the mountain by the members of the club, was a mountain trek with a length of 130 km. Tourists who left the village of Terskol in Kabardino-Balkaria overcame six high mountain passes in altitude of 3,500-3,700 meters with a height difference of more than 5,000 meters, in ten days, moved through six rough mountain rivers, passed a glacier with numerous cracks, steep slopes, moraine trees and many other dangerous and fascinating beauty obstacles.
The tourist club ‘Condor’ was founded 32 years ago, in 1986, at the student's trade union of Belgorod State Pedagogical Institute. Since then, the club has carried out more than 200 campaigns of various complexity categories (from the 1st to the 5th) in the Crimea, the Carpathians, the Caucasus, the Altai, the Urals, Baikal and others.
In the history of the club's existence, more than three thousand students, graduate students and teachers have become active participants in the tourist movement of the university.
