The task of the teacher is to teach younger students to learn

The seminar was held with the participation of teachers of primary classes of gymnasiums and schools of the city of Belgorod - Svetlana Letoshnikova, Svetlana Bassarab, Oksana Chernenkaya. Practicing teachers presented to the students of the faculty their experience of using the method of modeling as an effective means of teaching younger schoolchildren. Teachers developed methodical developments in the process of designing lessons in elementary school, as well as in the course of participation in the ‘I am a researcher’ competition.

‘Self-determination of the younger student in the course of training. The main goal of this approach is to generate interest in the subject and process of learning, and develop students' self-education skills. The main task of the teacher is to teach younger students to learn’, the lecturers noted.

The workshop participants described various modeling techniques (figurative, material, symbolic, living) that they use in their practice, demonstrated the models created by their students, and also offered students to act as schoolchildren and perform the proposed tasks and make models.

Summing up the meeting, Natalya Ilyenko, noted the high interest of the students of the faculty and pointed out that this educational seminar was one of the significant events in the professional development of future primary school teachers.
