Every year, Belgorod State University has an open day for local schoolchildren, which introduces them to university life. It is called 'A Night at the University'
It is run by student volunteers in conjunction with faculty staff, the admissions office, and foundation course staff. 125 High School students were given a series of tasks that led them through the various faculties, introducing them to subjects they will not have encountered at school. They were guided by students in those faculties, and were able to ask questions about aspects of university life, and receive answers straight from the horses mouth.
Among the new experiences were tasks in economics, management, a mock trial, medical simulations, and lessons in anatomy. They also got to visit the forensics museum, work with robots, talk theology, learn about psychology, play at PR and journalism, and find out about sociology, and the UK. The event was coordinated by Nadezhda Sinelnikova.
