13 Belgorod State University lecturers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) enrolled in English courses run by Centre for Foreign Languages and Academic Writing, in order to participate in Erasmus+
The benefits of using English to connect to the latest techniques and technology in education got a boost in 2018, when universities from Sweden, Ireland, Turkey, Finland, Kazakhstan and Russia joined forces to make an effort to train STEM teachers. These teachers are often unskilled in English, in spite of the use of the language to publish nearly all of the research in these fields. Programs are being developed using the latest techniques that will engage these gifted teachers, and incentivise further language learning.
