Collaboration with schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences

A meeting with representatives of the leadership and teachers of schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences was held at the pedagogical institute of Belgorod State University, during which the immediate tasks for the participation of university teachers and scientists in the educational activities of schools were discussed. Teachers of physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science of the Lyceum No. 9 and the Shukhov Lyceum, as well as leading scientists from BelSU Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science Education of the Pedagogical Institute and the Department of Biology of the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology, discussed in detail the prospects for cooperation in organizing research and design activities of talented schoolchildren.

Victoria Tarabaeva, Director of the Pedagogical Institute of Belgorod State University, noted that scientists it is important to focus on preparing students for design and research activities at the new stage of cooperation between RAS schools and Belgorod State University. The dean of the faculty of mathematics and science education at the Pedagogical Institute Svetlana Chernyavskikh made a proposal on organizing the preparation of senior pupils for experimental and design activities in the subjects of the natural science cycle as part of the existing programs of the Belgorod State University research school. Director of the Shukhov Lyceum Alexander Zarubin emphasized that the most urgent task at this stage of cooperation is to determine project managers from the faculty of the Belgorod State University for senior pupils.

The meeting participants united in small working groups to form the topics of the individual project activities of high school students and made suggestions on how to manage them with the involvement of scientists from Belgorod State University.
