Anastasia Tyazhlova, Kamola Yusupova, and Edgar Fedikovich, students from Belgorod State University's Medical Institute, went to Kazan to participate in a Medical Skills Competition, achieving an excellent 2nd place
48 teams from 16 Regions took part in the competition, which was hosted in the beautiful city of Kazan. The teams were put through their paces over three days, with the first day being devoted to patient handling in three different medical residences, a hospital, a hospice, and a nursing home. They also sat a theory test on the principles of nursing. The second day involved presenting pre-prepared projects around the idea 'We treat patients using our minds, not medicine'. The last day involved a scenario sprung on them by the organisers, designed to test their ability to cope with emergencies.
The students were awarded at a closing ceremony in front of their peers and assessors. This is one of many competitions involving our students travelling extensively within the Russian Federation.
