The platform for scientific developments exhibition and open lecture courses was the Institute of Pedagogy
The international STEM festival dedicated to innovative project learning was held in a combined format. The main part of the festival took place on the territory of BelSU open Engineering School.
Opening the festival, Victoria Tarabaeva, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy addressed to the participants saying that over a period of its 145-years history our university had been training high-qualified professionals using classical educational methods and innovative ones as well.
Maxim Bondarev, Head of the Department of Primary Education at the Academy of Psychology, project manager at the South Federal University, also greeted the participants.
The festival participants shared their experience in the implementation of STEM education in their regions and new approaches in teaching nature science disciplines. Within the event, there were presentations and master-classes in STEM-education, an exhibition of the scientific STEM-objects development in the conference hall.
Gultekin Cakmakci, Associate Professor in Hacettepe Üniversitesi (Turkey), STEAM-techniques communicator, held the lecture in design thinking and its implementation in real life as a guest lecturer.

The Festival was held with the support of UN “Erasmus+” program within the project “Integrated approach to teachers’ training STEAM”. A consortium of partner universities from Russia, Sweden, Turkey, Ireland, Finland and Kazakhstan has been participating in the project since 2019. The project has resulted in opening new network Master programs for training teachers of STEM disciplines at a number of Russian and Kazakh universities, as well as the establishment of specialized STEM centers, promoting the teaching of nature science in Russia and Kazakhstan.
