The role of Russian language as a global language of science, education and international communication at the CIS countries was discussed at the International Academic Congress
The International Academic Congress “Russian Language in the Global Scientific and Educational Space” was organized by Pushkin Russian Language State Institute under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in partnership with Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University, Belarusian-Russian University and the Russian-Armenian University.
The session on “Coordination and Enhancement of the Effectiveness of Russian Language Teaching and Research in the CIS Region” included three online sessions. Attending one of them Alisa Vergun, a third-year student of BelSU History and Philology Department, made a report on the role of the volunteer program “Russian Language Ambassadors Worldwide” in promotion of interethnic communication in the CIS countries. The study of the organization activities and her personal experience of being selected for the international volunteer programme enabled her to make a conclusion that the international volunteer projects and programmes aimed at preserving linguistic diversity in the world through Russian language promotion make a significant contribution to the interethnic communication in the CIS countries.
The session was attended by scholars, lecturers and students of higher education institutions, secondary school teachers, the authorities and public figures representing CIS countries.
