The school for Russian language teachers opened abroad for the second time

In order to promote Russian as a foreign language Belgorod State University carries out various activities aimed at popularizing Russian language, raising interest in it and Russian culture, and promoting and strengthening image of Belgorod State University worldwide. One of the programme elements consists in professional development of teachers and specialists from partner organisations in the field of Russian language teaching methods.

For this purpose the School of Russian as a Foreign Language Teaching Methods was held by the university for the second time. This year 62 people participated in the professional development programme among them teachers and lecturers from China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Syria.

The leading specialists in intercultural communication made speeches at the opening ceremony. The Director of International Cooperation Department Nikolay Tsybulya welcomed the participants noting the importance of promoting the ideas of the Russian world and creating a true image of Russia worldwide. The Director of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations Olga Prokhorova congratulated everyone on the launch of the School and thanked foreign colleagues for promoting Russian language and culture in different countries. The School will be held via videoconferencing until the end of March.
