New software will facilitate blended education
Artyom Ryzhenkov, a student of BelSU College of Engineering supervised by Professors Dmitry Goncharov and Irina Sviridova developed software to enhance blended learning.
As Irina Sviridova explained the software was developed under the educational project to apply for the annual project competition of BelSU Engineering College as part of the Information Systems and Software (CSC) Week organized by the Cycle Methodology Committee.
The project led to a certificate of state registration of the software which was issued by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property. At the moment the software enable to automatically login in the “Pegasus” e-learning system and connect to the BigBlueButton webinar rooms, to simultaneously turn on the microphone, webcam and recording sessions.
Dmitry Goncharov noted that the software was part of the applied system for blended learning sessions conducted by a lecturer. As part of the educational project it is planned to implement various functions including automatic attendance monitoring during the class.
It is important to note the flexibility of the developed software. In the future it can be adapted and customized for any e-learning system.
It is worth noting that the software is not the only achievement for Artyom Ryzhenkov. The student regularly participates in different competitions and contests. Thus, at the Information Systems and Software (CSC) Week he was awarded in the “The Most Unique Idea” Nomination at the projects competition “Technologies of the Future” and became the winner of the competition “Junior C# Developer”.
