The Inter-University Scientific and Methodological Seminar “Pre-University Training in Russia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” was held at Belgorod State University.
The seminar was organized by Preparatory Department and the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech and Intercultural Communication of BelSU Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations. The participants discussed innovative approaches to teaching Russian as a foreign language in multicultural environment, new teaching methods and tools, exchanged their experience.
The presented reports covered the issues of teaching the major language, problems of adaptation of foreigners and preparation for their teaching. Much attention was paid to distance learning and IT technologies application in educational process.
Professors Tatiana Samosenkova, Lyudmila Svoykina, Elena Nazarenko, a doctoral student Vyacheslav Balykov and other scientists emphasized the need of taking into account of the latest achievements of linguistics and psychology in the study of teaching Russian as a foreign language in higher education institutions.
The reports made by a doctoral student Irina Bocharova and a lecturer Nadezhda Semashkina focused on the analysis of the phenomena taking place in the Russian language evolution and its teaching methodology in univeristies.
The long-term experience of teaching at the digital preparatory department was presented in the reports made by the V. G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University specialists. During the seminar the participants also discussed theoretical and practical aspects of the major language teaching, as well as the possibility of using IT technologies in education.
Everyone was especially interested in the current issues of distance learning. Certain examples of organizing teaching for foreigners staying in their home countries were presented.
The seminar participants agreed that the exchange of experience was useful and such interaction between Russian language teachers had a significant impact on both individual and common problems of teaching Russian at Preparatory Department.
