The event supported by the Ministry of Education and Science brought together history students and representatives of the youth media space from various regions of Russia.
Representatives from 38 regions of the Russian Federation participated in the School-Congress at Tula State University, which was aimed at sharing experiences and educating young historians. Belgorod State University was represented by Nikolai Shevtsov, a Master student of History and Philology Department of Pedagogical Institute.
The university representatives were divided into four teams, each of them working for three days on one of the topics – “80th Anniversary of Victory at Stalingrad”, “250th Anniversary of M.M. Speransky”, “Khabarovsk Process” and “Russian South. History of Russia's Exploration and Development of Novorossiya”.
Nikolai Shevtsov's team, titled as “NeDikoye Pole”, was assigned with the history of Novorossia topic. The team members had created a group in the VKontakte social network, and the project was highly evaluated as a result of defending. Along with the second place, the team got a special prize – a certificate for publishing an article in the “Word in Science” international journal.
As Nikolay Shevtsov noted, such events help not only to demonstrate one's knowledge in a particular field of science and history, but also to bring young scientists together, to actively exchange thoughts and experiences, and to foster the team spirit.
The Master's student’s participation in the school-congress was supported by the grant allocated for developing student scientific societies.
