A series of patriotic events dedicated to the Great Victory and the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk was continued at Belgorod State University.
BelSU Center for Intercultural Communication became a venue for the literary and musical event “Text Lines Affected by War” involving Russian students and the representatives of the university’s international student communities, including students of Preparatory Department. The students were introduced to the world of military poetry and music, tried to perceive and convey the feelings of people who suffered all the hardships of the war and appreciate the feat of the great Soviet people.
The evening was attended by Valeria Golous, the Captain of Airborne Forces, the Deputy Chairman of Regional Public Organization “Union of Officers”. Valeria welcomed the event guests and participants and read poems about the war written by Belgorod region authors.
Poems about war and love for Russia by the famous Soviet poets Konstantin Simonov, Bulat Okudzhava, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Evgeniy Evtushenko, Eduard Asadov, Rasul Gamzatov were recited by Russian students, international students, Kristina Khabarova, the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Communication and Olga Lutova, the Director of the Centre for Peoples' Friendship.
The students from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Egypt heartily performed the Russian song “I will go with my horse”, thus expressing their love for Russia, which has became their second homeland during all the years of study at Belgorod State University.
As part of the event Anastasia Strzhalkovskaya, the Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Language, Professional Speech and Intercultural Communication, the curator of Uzbekistan student community, conducted an information hour for international students to explain why Victory Day is so important in Russia.
