The wards of the Holy Belogorye against Childhood Cancer charity fund visited the Equestrian School of Belgorod State University.
The School staff organized a tour for children with a difficult fate, who have survived cancer, and for those with musculoskeletal and mental disorders.
The children got acquainted with the horses, were able to pet and treat the animals with carrots and sugar. The bravest participants also took part in a "who would clean the horse the best" competition and had a ride.
Natalya Kadyrova, a riding instructor, noted that the unusual nature of such excursions is to create full contact between man and horse.
She said: "In the process of communication and interaction with a horse, children overcome their inner fear of a large animal and learn to trust it. Children psychologically get out of their comfort zone, get a new experience, new emotions that positively affect their physical and psychological health."
Such events allow the university to fulfill its socio-cultural mission, actively participate in the life of the region's residents and contribute to the well-being of the Belgorod region.
