Evgeniya Karlovskaya meeting with the ambassadors of Belgorod State University

The meeting of Evgeniya Karlovskaya, the Acting Rector of Belgorod State University, with the representatives of the Ambassador Corps of Belgorod State University was held via videoconferencing. It was joined by the university’s graduates, promoting its brand in six countries: Muñoz-Andrade Luis Fernando - in the Republic of Ecuador, Rincon Quintero Edgar Giovanni - in the Republic of Colombia, Kete Carlos Jorge - in the Republic of Angola, Mansur Ahmed - in the Middle East and North Africa, Sun Xinyuan - in the People's Republic of China and Sabirov Dilshod Shukhrat Ugli - in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Evgeniya Karlovskaya and the meeting moderator Vladislav Kuchmisty, the Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, thanked the ambassadors for their significant work in attracting new applicants to the university and building co-operation with foreign partner universities in their countries.

The Rector expressed hope that the representatives of BelSU Ambassadors Corps, who have promoted Belgorod State University brand abroad for five years, would be honoured with the title of Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science, joining another eleven best graduates of Russian universities, who had been awarded this title by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation at the end of November.

During the meeting the ambassadors not only voiced the results achieved in 2023, but also proposed the plans to improve their work.

In its turn, the university’s management set new ambitious goals for the ambassadors in 2024, which were referred to the Year of Partnership announced at BelSU. One of the key goals consists in developing scientific and educational diplomacy, when the university does not exist in isolation in the academic environment, but meets the needs of the state, focusing primarily on the development of the economy.

Another significant goal is building the community of the university’s graduates of different years. For this purpose the official university’s representatives were delegated to establish branches of BelSU Alumni Association in the countries of presence. And in order provide favourable study conditions for the current and future students in Belgorod, Evgeniya Karlovskaya suggested the ambassadors to make their proposals for the programme of creating supportive environment for international students.
