A Russian film and theatre actress, TV presenter and laureate of state prize gave a lecture devoted to the impact of modern filmmaking industry on young minds.
The celebrated actress Olga Budina delivered a lecture titled, ‘Filmmaking as Social Engineering’ as she participated in the proceedings of the First Belgorod Law Forum that took place at Belgorod State University on the 11-12th March.
The lecture was organized for students from all institutes and colleges of Belgorod State University. BelSU Rector Evgeniya Karlovskaya and Vice-rectors Alexey Chernitsov, Dmitry Krupkin and Elena Skripnikova also attended the event at the Centre for civic and patriotic education of BelSU students.
At the lecture, Olga Budina compared foreign and Soviet cinema, and reasoned why the modern film industry can be regarded as a tool for manipulating society.
The lecturer emphasized that unlike Western cinema, Soviet cinema had as its task the transformation for a better society.
‘If we put at heart the task of preservation of the nation, and create new, incorrupt behaviour patterns that are attractive to the viewers – in this case only will we be able to move forward,’ stated Olga Budina.
At the end of the event, all students and guests were appreciated to ask questions and share opinions, and even debate controversial topics with the lecturer.
