Belgorod National Research University recently highlighted its Science-Intensive Technological Entrepreneurship strategy at the 4th All-Russian forum on technological entrepreneurship, TechPred-2025. The forum attracted over 2,000 participants, including representatives from Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) and other universities involved in the Science-Intensive Technological Entrepreneurship Consortium, which is chaired by BelSU's Rector, Evgeniya Karlovskaya.
Spanning two days, the forum was closely aligned with the Technology Federal Project and featured five thematic tracks that examined various aspects of technological entrepreneurship. Attendees had the chance to curate their own learning experiences by selecting from more than 30 sessions, which included insights from over 120 experts from academia, business, investment funds, and development institutions. A standout event was the pitch session for the Top 50 Best University Start-Ups.
Evgeniya Karlovskaya emphasized that a significant highlight of the forum was the strategic session titled "Technology Federal Project: An Acceleration Roadmap," led by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. This session focused on Russia's technological trajectory over the next decade and strategies for building a robust national innovation ecosystem in an era where adaptability is crucial.
During interactive plenary discussions, participants explored strategic directions for enhancing the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem. Key topics included collaboration between universities and industries to boost regional technological advancement, integrating ethical and technological solutions into product design, and linking high-tech enterprises with ground-breaking student start-ups.
As an expert in the field, BelSU Rector participated in a strategic dialogue titled “University Technology Consortia: +100 Points in the Race for Leadership,” where consortium leaders shared insights about their unique contributions.
The primary goal of the Consortium of Universities from Border and New Territories of the Russian Federation’s “Science-Intensive Technological Entrepreneurship” is to drive significant economic growth in Russia’s historical and border regions. As Karlovskaya noted, establishing a solid foundation is critical for realizing this objective.
“We are breaking down barriers to science and innovation in border and historical regions through collaborative efforts on national projects. A unified approach between universities and industry enhances our technological capabilities,” commented Evgeniya Karlovskaya.
Drawing upon the experiences of BelSU and the Consortium, she highlighted that developing an acceleration movement is vital for advancing technological entrepreneurship.
“The university’s role in fostering Russia’s technological sovereignty is reinforced through external expertise, ongoing collaboration with our consortium partners, coordinated functions, and addressing competency gaps in innovative project implementation,” shared Evgeniya Anatolyevna.
