Students from the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies have gathered to apply their skills to challenges that directly benefit the university community.
The latest edition of the Hack&HTML – Code, Coffee, and Tags hackathon is under way at the Engineering School of Belgorod National Research University (BelSU).
What sets this stage apart is its strong practice-oriented focus. Rather than developing abstract concepts, participants were tasked with selecting projects that could genuinely improve life on campus. The emphasis is on IT solutions capable of streamlining educational processes, enhancing the user experience of the university’s digital environment, or automating routine tasks.
Students are developing their projects under the guidance of experienced mentors from the institute. Expert support is being provided by Vitaly Gaivoronsky, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical and Software Information Systems; Alexandra Medvedeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Information and Telecommunication Systems and Technologies; and Alexander Babenko, Assistant Professor of the Department of Automated Systems and Technologies.
Following lively brainstorming sessions and spirited discussions, teams have now been formed and have finalised their project topics. By identifying the everyday challenges faced by both students and staff, participants have been able not only to select their areas of focus but also to develop detailed plans for further product development.
The teams now have until the next meeting to transform their bold ideas into working prototypes.| << Back to the list |
