Faculty from universities across Russia gathered at Belgorod State University for New Materials and Chemistry Training Program to bridge the gap between laboratory synthesis and industrial production.
Belgorod National Research University (BelSU) has taken a leading role in Russia's New Materials and Chemistry national project, hosting a core module of a collaborative professional development programme titled “Modern Chemical Technologies for Medical-Grade Polymers: From Laboratory Synthesis to Industrial Production.”
The initiative, run jointly with Tomsk State University, is part of the federal project for advanced training and retraining of skilled personnel in new materials and chemistry. Its goal is to update faculty competencies, modernize educational curricula, and improve graduate training for the chemical industry.
In Belgorod, participants visited the VLADMIVA Special Economic Zone, where they studied pharmaceutical substance production, licensing requirements, quality management systems, and the organization of Class D cleanrooms. Special attention was given to validating technological processes and quality control - from raw material inspection to the final product.
“The internship equipped participants with practical knowledge that will enable them to update higher education curricula and train a new generation of specialists,” noted Ulyana Krut, Head of the School of Natural Sciences.
The program also took faculty to production facilities in Omsk and Voronezh, including Polyom LLC and Collagen-Lab LLC, offering a comparative view of how different enterprises approach chemical manufacturing. Liliya Polovneva, Head of Quality Control at VLADMIVA, praised the participants’ high level of interest and professionalism.
