The delegation fr om BelSU, headed by Rector Prof. Oleg Polukhin, participated in celebration event in honor of Hanze University of Applied Sciences 215th Anniversary in Groningen (the Netherlands). Representatives of the both Universities agreed on continuation of close cooperation between BelSU and Hanze University.
On invitation of Drs. H.J. Pijlman, President of Hanze University (Groningen), the members of the Belgorod National Research University delegate board Prof. Oleg Polukhin, Rector of BelSU, Alexander Mamatov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Informatization, Viktor Zakharov, Director of BelSU Institute of Management, and Inna Kaskova, the Head of Department of International Activity Development and Supporting, participated in President’s Programme in honor of the 215 year lustrum celebration.
The official part of the visit included a meeting with the Governor of Groningen Province, a conference “Preparing Professionals for the Global Workplace” and a round-table meeting of Hanze UAS international partners fr om Austria, Thailand, Belgium, Germany and Russia which was represented by the BelSU delegation.
At the meeting wh ere cooperation opportunities within the framework of international universities consortium were discussed, Oleg Polukhin did a presentation on Belgorod State l Research National University and held out the prospects of academic and scientific collaboration between the universities.
During the visit, President of Hanze UAS H.J. Pijlman held a bilateral meeting with Rector of BelSU Oleg Polukhin wh ere the protocol on jointly-run activities for 2014 was adopted. The Protocol covers about ten avenues of academic and scientific cooperation. The key areas identified are Energy and Entrepreneurship.
Before the Protocol was signed, Oleg Polukhin took a word to introduce the successful completion of the plan of cooperation for 2013. He said, “We managed to implement five joint programs, including the Hanze University students’ participation in Pegas Project School in Belgorod, and the BelSU students in Sensor City project in Assen, and exchange education for two BelSU students, who are currently studying at Hanze University.” President H.J. Pijlman also expressed a high opinion of the cooperation level between the Universities and spoke in support of the Belgorod party’s suggestion to launch real-time virtual classes for lecture exchange by the Netherlands and Belgorod scientists.
The “Veresk” art-studio and the students the Prince Claus Conservatoire of Hanze UAS held a joint musical performance during the visit of the Belgorod delegation.
