Russia’s PM Visits BelSU

In Belgorod State National Research University, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev held meeting of the Presidium of the Council for Economic Modernisation and Innovative Development.

Government officials, Heads of regions, chiefs of targeted enterprises and progressive scientists took part in the meeting held on Tuesday. Before the meeting started, the participants took an excursion round the campus and viewed the exposition of BelSU’s innovative developments. The visitors expressed a high opinion of the University’s modern scientific laboratories where scientists are able to achieve world-level results for cutting-edge experimental researches they conduct.

Prime Minister had the opportunity to learn more about BelSU’s innovative projects. Prof. Oleg Polukhin, Rector of Belgorod State National Research University presented to him science and research development priorities carried out by the University. Among them he named creating and processing industrial-use nanomaterials; nanotechnologies and nanomaterials for Biology, Medicine and Pharmacy; space, geo-information and infocommunication technologies for efficient management of sustainable social and economic development of territories – globally marketable knowledge-intensive technologies.

The dedicated exposition presented samples of technology-intensive products frequently or regularly used by enterprises both region- and country-wide. Dmitry Medvedev expressed interest in history of the creation and development of the BelSU Institute of Medicine and emphasized the University’s upward dynamics and productivity in the sphere of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.
