A high-tech project exhibition was organized in BSU Youth Culture Centre as a part of Russian Science Day activities. Among projects displayed the visitors could see ones developed in cooperation with the University’s partners. All the developments presented had already been ranked high at various regional, national and international exhibitions.
This exhibition in the BSU Youth Culture Centre was the first performance of the project, developed by a student design and development centre of the BSU Engineering and Physics Department. The students have designed and assembled an RSC-bot – a multi-purpose robotic platform to be used in municipal engineering, construction works, and for emergency response and recovery.
The platform is driven by two electric motor drives, one for each side. The platform is currently radio-controlled only, and it is approved to be further equipped with two more control options – internet control and autonomous control system with decision support system. The mechanism’s working organ is hydraulically actuated, and when platform is used in the snow-clearing vehicle configuration, its working organ is cutting blade. In other configurations, the working organs are bucket, brush or pneumatic hammer.
Over the next while, the BSU developers’ RSC-bot project is to be presented at one of prestigious invention and innovation expos.
