International students of Belgorod State National Research University took part in What? Where? When? – an intellectual game, which was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Belgorod region formation.
According to the organizers, the game serves to bring international students together, to challenge and broaden their knowledge of culture, history and traditions of the Belgorod region.
As a tradition demands, the guests were greeted with festive bake. The guests were told about history of the Belgorod region, its political and economic position today and afterwards they watched a film about Belgorod.
The culmination of the evening was, of course, the intellectual game. The two teams to strive for victory were formed of international BelSU students from China. The teams took a quiz about history, culture and famous names of the Belgorod region, and guessed what was in the black box – a traditional attribute of the game. At the last round of the game the contestants recited poetry of prominent Belgorod poets.
The both teams performed perfectly and the jury didn’t manage to adjudge the victory only to one of them. Later Deputy Director of the Institute of Cross-cultural Communications and International Relations for social and educational work Oksana Balashova remarked that young people were well-acquainted of the Belgorod region.
“The game turned out to be very interesting. It let us know more about the history of the city and take a closer look at the culture and traditions of the country, we came to study”, said Ghun Yuan, a student of the Institute, after the game.
