Students of Foreign Languages Department of the BelSU Institute of Pedagogy attended a week-long training programme at the Faculty of Cultural Studies of the University of Bremen (Germany).
Trainings at Uni Bremen have been available to students of the BelSU Foreign Languages Department for five years already, within the framework of the BelSU – Uni Bremen cooperation. This joint project is coordinated by teachers of the German Language Sub-department – associate professors Elena Sherstyukova and Elena Bezrukova.
The participant students attended lectures and conferences on various subjects, e.g. Culture and Economics, Police Culture, etc. which are designed to meet practice-directed approach of education. Primary target of such international training programmes is language communication, that’s why the BelSU students took every chance they could to socialize with locals of Bremen, both at the classes and outside of University. Our students were allowed to be present at final rehearsal of a theatrical performance, went to an excursion round the ancient city of Bremen, and visited a family museum enterprise where they got acquainted with family business culture.
Upon completing the training, Mr.Frei, the programme coordinator from the German side, presented the BelSU students with participant certificates. A return visit of German students and teachers to the Department of Foreign Languages of the BelSU Institute of Pedagogy is scheduled for end of May 2014.
