BelSU delegation headed by Rector Oleg Polukhin held a series of meetings and conferences with Sergey Donich, Vice-Premier of the Republic of Crimea, and Heads and Principals of nstitutes and universities of the Crimea.
At the meeting with Vice-Premier of the Republic of Crimea, the issues of cooperation between Belgorod State National University and institutes and universities of the Crimea as well as main tasks for retraining and professional development of academic staff were discussed.
BelSU Rector spoke on the possibilities for additional and further training, including distance learning, that Crimean teachers and public officers can use and advantage fr om. High-qualified staff training for this sphere is conducted by the BelSU Institute of Pedagogy and the Institute of Management.
According to Sergey Donich, it would be mutually beneficial if BelSU scientists enhanced their scientific research into the issues of pressing importance for the Republic of Crimea. The Russian and Ukrainian parties also discussed the problem and possibilities of using sub-marine sources of fresh water. This problem is researched by the scientists from the BelSU Department of Mining and Natural Resource Management.
The representatives of Belgorod State University had a meeting with seniors, deans and members of Science and Engineering Council of BelSU’s key partner in the region – Taurida National V.I. Vernadsky University. At the meeting of Science and Engineering Council, Igor Konstantinov, BelSU Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, presented his report on the prospects for cooperation in science and education. At the end of this meeting, a contract on cooperation between the two Universities was signed. The contract provides for academic staff exchange, increasing student mobility and carrying out joint projects.
During their visit to the Crimea, the BelSU representatives attended the Russian Culture Centre and Geology Training Centre of the Russian State Geological Prospecting University (MGRI-RSGPU) wh ere BelSU students are sent to for practical training every year.
