BelSU staff members participated in Prepare Kids’ Backpacks to School – annual charitable effort, organized in the Belgorod region.
Within the framework of the charitable event, BelSU staff members handed new backpacks filled with necessary school supplies to Artyom and StanislavSenovs – twin brothers from a multi-child family, getting ready for the fifth form in school.
The fundraiser for the Senovs family was organized by the Cultural-education activity Office with the coordination of deputy directors and deans of the BelSU departments.
According to Svetlana Ostrikova, Vice-Rector for Cultural and Educational Affairs, the event was organized by university’s staff members after the initiative of the Martha and Mary Mercy Sisterhood. The Office closely cooperates with the Mercy Sisterhood for several years already.
“We so much wanted the Day of Knowledge [September 1] to be a big day for those children. Today we gave them necessary backpacks, notebooks, books, calculators, creativity sets and other school supplies,” said Svetlana Ostrikova.
Note. Prepare Kids’ Backpacks to School is an annual charitable event to raise money for additional help to multi-child family and to families, going through hard times, that need support to prepare their children for school.
