Belgorod gold gloves

Four boxers from Belgorod, including two students of Belgorod National Research University, have won the Russian championship.

 Belgorod got four gold medals from the Russian Boxing championship, which was held in Rostov-on-Don. It was the first time in the history of boxing when four representatives of one region have managed to win gold medals in the main competition of the country.

 "This is a phenomenal result, I think we went into the history of boxing. Now our goal is to win gold medals at the Summer Olympic Games 2016 ", - said Vladimir Tebekin, the president of the Belgorod Boxing Federation, at the press conference at the end of the championship.

 Vladimir Nikitin, Dmitry Polyansky, Vitaly Dunaytsev and Eugene Tishchenko were awarded with cash prizes and cars. The press conference participants and spectators watched some fragments of the final battles of the Russian championship.

 The winners were congratulated by Valery Sergachev, the First Deputy Governor and the Head of the department of internal and personnel policies of the Belgorod region. Oleg Polukhin, the rector of Belgorod National Research University, noticed that the Belgorod region may become the world capital of boxing soon as it is the most successful in the development of volleyball in the country now.
