Alexander Dolzhikov, Professor of Belgorod National Research University participated in the VIII Congress of oncologists and radiologists of CIS and Eurasia, which was held in Kazan 16-18 of September. Scientific Forum brought together more than two thousand delegates from all the countries of the Commonwealth and Eurasia, as well as scientists from Europe and the USA.
At the opening ceremony of the congress the participants of the forum have been welcomed by Ildar Khalikov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tatyana Yakovleva, Deputy Health Minister, Mikhail Davydov, Academician, chief oncologist Ministry of Health. The best oncologists, including young professionals, journalists have been rewarded for the best work on the cancer issues.
Scientists have discussed a number of important problems in health care - the social significance of cancer, the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors, modern approaches to radiation therapy in oncology. There were a lot of sections, symposia and meetings at the congress.
Alexander Dolzhikov, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Anatomy and Histology of the Medicine Institute of Belgorod National Research University gave a lecture "Problems in identifying and assessing the level of proliferation of estrogen and progesterone receptors" during the master class "morphological identification of target molecules for targeted therapy".
Alexander Alexandrovich presented a lecture based on the analysis of world literature, as well as his own research. He spoke about the issues of concern relating to the definition of molecular genetic subtypes of breast cancer. Until recently the problems of molecular classification of breast carcinomas are not fully understood and are not devoid of serious conflicts, such as a result of a high biological diversity of tumors. The report aroused great interest among the experts, it has been the subject of discussion and controversy.
The contacts of specialists made at the forum will determine the basis for future cooperation with leading cancer institutions of Kazan and Moscow.
