Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther. Professor of Economics from Bremen University (Leipzig) spoke to teachers and students of the BelSU Institute of Economics.
Prof. Günther presented the findings of her research on structural change and development of innovative system of East Germany. She worked at a research institute; at present Prof. Günther heads the Department of Structure Economics of the Bremen University’s Economics Research Centre.
In her presentation, Prof. Günther gave details on economic gap between East and West Germany – the innovative activity patterns of the two regions were considerably affected by how privatization process was carried out in the beginning of 1990s.
The audience was interested in the information presented by Prof. Günther, because the processes she described are very much similar to those took place in Russia at the same period.
Among issues to interest the students and teachers were how research developments are commercialized in Germany, whether international students contribute to research process, and whether Bremen University participates in student exchange programmes.
Prof. Günther expressed interest in organizing short-term exchange programmes on students of Economics which can contribute to academic mobility of students and teachers of the both Bremen and Belgorod universities.
Professor Elena Kamyshanchenko, Head of World Economy Chair at BelSU, invited German colleagues and students to take part in scientific conferences, to co-author monograph, to supervise Masters’ and postgrad students’ final scientific papers, and to jointly apply for international grants.
