A centre for cell research will be there at Belgorod State National Research University.
According to Vladimir Kulikovsky, Head of BelSU Institute of Medicine, cell research that should be among the University’s development priorities. First of all, this research area is currently in high demand. Second, developing cell research technologies will contribute to development of the whole of the region’s medical facilities and infrastructure. He explains the significance of cell technologies by their ability to renew organ’s or tissue’s cell composition without modifying it, so that the problem of organ transplant could be solved without surgeon’s touching the scalpel.
Head of BelSU Institute of Medicine spoke about it at the ceremony of opening the commemorative plaque in tribute to outstanding Russian surgeon Arnold Sedov, who certainly believed in cell technologies and instructed his students and followers to develop this research area.
There’s no doubt that Professor Sedovwas right, and scalpel won’t let us cure everything. Today I am pleased to inform you that the Governor of the Belgorod region took the decision to start constructing a centre for cell research on the premises of Belgorod State National Research University, said Professor Kulikovsky.
