The chairman of the conference was vice governor Valeriy Sergachev. Representatives of local authorities, BelSU administration and chief executives of regional businesses also took part in the meeting.
V. Sergachev said that the regional microbiological center would be a link between BelSU researches and regional businesses. “The center will provide research development support and its integration into business. But business representatives cannot always invest substantial sums in research, so the science development can be backed up only with the help of the government”, - the chairman emphasized.
Oleg Polukhin, BelSU principal, said that the University had remarkably consolidated its facilities. A number of Leading scientists were invited and all necessary conditions for the research of biopharmaceutical technologies and medicinal drugs were created.
Vladimir Kulikovskiy, director of BelSU Medical Institute told that the University trained specialists for the main directions of work: microbiologists, bacteriologists and epidemiologists. The microbiological center will cover three fields of work: pharmacy, agriculture and technology.
The Center equipping and its personnel training will be over by the end of 2014, and it will start functioning at the beginning of 2015.
