BelSU summarized the scientific work in 2014

The rise of total amount of the research and R&D works, rise of publishing activity and increase of patents’ quantity became the scientists’ main achievements in the expiring year.

After the preliminary years results, funding allocation for the research programs, grants, public contracts and administrative agreements were by 18,3% higher than a same rate of 2013. Funding of these works were performed by state and business 50/50.

Professor Igor Konstantinov, vice-rector of research and innovations, pointed out that the biggest contribution to the total volume of research works was made by the Engineering and natural sciences Institute, Medical Institute, Management Institute и Mine engineering and environmental management department.

In 2014 535 projects were performed, 137 of which were new. The rate of intellectual property registration increased. 191 developments were registered and 70 claims for inventions and utility models were submitted.

Rector of the BelSU professor Oleg Polukhin recommend the scientists to take to consideration the branches in which the foreign technologies need to be replace by the domestic ones the next year. BelSU takes part in creation of regional biopharmaceutical complex, has a license for the research of medical products and advanced equipment for the research in this field.
