In search of truth

The principal of BelSU Oleg Polukhin mentioned that the university has positive dynamics in increase of publishing activity and R&D volume. “It means that we move in right direction, but, through the exchange of experience with colleagues from leading universities we will find solutions of many problems and improve our work”, – said Oleg Polukhin.

The principal called on Prof. Anthony R. Lupo, the head of University of Missouri Soil, Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences Department, who is reading lections at BelSU at the present time. In 2011 Belgorod universities signed a long-term agreement of educational and scientific cooperation with American universities. For four years of academic cooperation, the scientists of Mining and Natural Resource Management Department and Prof. Lupo published 6 multi-authored articles in scientific magazines, including those from Scopus’ and Web of Science’s lists.

Prof. Lupo told the club members about University of Missouri’s experience in education, science and business. The University has almost 4 000 professors and academics. He made a special point of highly developed on-line education in American universities, including many video-lections and interactive communication with students.

At the end of the meeting, Oleg Polukhin suggested analyzing given information and submitting proposals for improving the work, considering world tendencies.
