BelSU team won a Winners’ Cup

National Fuel and Energy Cases Solving Championship is the largest career-guidance project of Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia. It provides a competition between students from the profession-oriented universities in solving engineering cases (hypothetical tasks) of mining, electric power engineering and geologic exploration. Near 170 future engineers – energy workers, miners and geologist from all over the country, from Yakutsk to Karaganda, from St. Petersburg to Magadan took part in the final round.

The championship was divided into three leagues, which included solving of different cases: mining, electric power engineering and geologic exploration. Last year BelSU team “Shmel” (Bumblebee) has already taken part in the championship, and this year it represented the university in “Mining” league. The students (Maxim Chekhlatiy, Aleksei Starostenko, Pavel Buslayev, Yulia Garanina) presented the best case solving (according to jury), based on their department’s innovations (the materials of Ermolovich E. A., Doctor of Science) and took a Winners’ Cup to Belgorod.

The winners were awarded by Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Novak.

“25 thousands of young specialists work at Russian F&E Complex. The strongest student teams, which members will soon enough prove their qualification and ambitions at F&E facilities are now gathered in this hall. You will deliver engineer and management solutions the effectiveness of specific objects’ and all complex’s work will depend on”, – said the Minister to the finalists.
