The students of BelSU Institute of Engineering Technology and Natural Science Engineering and Physics Department presented the models of new medical equipment at the diploma and qualification projects’ defence.
In the end of June, the students of “Medical Physics” specialty (and “Medical Physics” profile) have defended their diploma projects. The themes of the majority of works are connected with medical equipment models’ development and the usage of modern physic technologies in medical supplements.
“In one year the kids managed to make a real thing. These are the models of devices ready to be produced and sold. But to begin the production and enter the market it should be certified. Similar devices are produced mainly abroad. That’s why the main advantage of these diploma projects are low cost and original scheme solutions. The prime cost of new devices is 3-4 times lower than of foreign manufactured ones”, – said the Head of Engineering and Physics Department, Prof. Igor Vnukov.
In the last years the graduates of Engineering and Physics Department developed such medical devices as self-regulating acoustic aid with occlusion compensation, telepresence robot for medical institutions, spatialization aid device for partially sighted people, aromatherapy device with biofeedback, SMD-components installer for the electronic assembly arrangement, diadynamic therapeutic device, supersonic physiotherapeutic device etc. All of these devices can be practiced on a wide scale in medicine.
Earlier, BelSU has already graduated the specialists in Medical Physics, and now it will train bachelors in Physics (“Medical Physics” profile). The new magister program “Medical Physics” was opened in 2015.
The graduates of Engineering and Physics Department work in medical institutions and facilities where electrotechnics, electronics and programming are essential.
