Students of BelSU Mining and Natural Resource Management Department successfully passed landscape-ecological practical training in North-Caucasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy
The main objects of future ecologists’ studies became the largest gorges of North Ossetia (Tsey Gorge, Daryal Gorge, Fiagdon Gorge, Digoria Gorge, Dargav Gorge, Karmadon Gorge, Baksan Gorge), one of the Russian wonders, – Midagrabian Waterfalls and peaks of Caucasus Major and Lesser mountain ranges (m. Future ecologists received an opportunity to apply theory in practice: they analyzed structure and condition of mountain ranges and also gave recommendations for organization of recreation and business.
During the practical training, the students mastered methods of field studies in geo-ecological and landscape research and acquired competence necessary for future profession.
“Various routes through North Caucasian mountains, cultural sightseeing places, hospitality of our hosts and local people and also a mountain-climbing expedition to mount Elbrus, the highest point of Europe, became the most memorable impressions for all students of the group”, – said A. Chernomurova, the student of the group 81001203.
