1799 students were enrolled at BelSU’s main facility for all forms of study in 2015/2016 academic year.
According to a decision of BelSU Academic Board, the rector of the university, Prof. Oleg Polukhin signed admission orders for students, who have applied for 2015/2016 academic year.
Aleksandr Galtsev, executive secretary of BelSU enrolment board told about the first wave of enrolment at the meeting of Academic Board.
“2032 state-funded places in all educational levels including vocational secondary education were given to the university in 2015. The number of state-funded places for bachelors, specialists and masters is 1502 including Alekseevka and Stariy Oskol branches. Today, 1250 or 83% of state-funded places are filled”– he said.
1799 students are already enrolled to the main facility: 1196 will study at state-funded places, and 603 will study for fee. 1337 students are enrolled at full-time course of study, 454 – at part-time course, and 8 – at intra-extramural course. 123 students were enrolled at Alekseevka branch (15 of them will study at state-funded places) and 327 students were enrolled at Stariy Oskol branch (39 of them – at state-funded places). 180 students were enrolled at state-funded places at BelSU Medical College.
264 students from Lugansk nad Donetsk regions (Ukraine) and Crimea were enrolled at state-funded places according to 350 state-funded places quota.
As Aleksandr Galtsev said, current figures are significantly higher than last year’s in state-funded places number and students’ applications number. He has also mentioned good first wave’s results in Alekseevka and Stariy Oskol. Besides that, he reminded that enrollment at some courses is underway and some state-funded places are still vacant.
Prof. Oleg Polukhin said that there is absence of demand in some engineering and pedagogical courses, but it is a common problem for majority of higher education facilities in Russia.
