The unique technology of nanostructural bioactive porous coating for endoprothesises of pelvis and knee joints, developed by scientists of BelSU will be introduced in production at PAO “Krasnogorskiy zavod im. S. A. Zvereva” in 2015
Two years ago, the scientists of BelSU “Nanostructural materials” Innovation center, leading by Prof. Yuri Kolobov have begun a large-scale project by the order of PAO “Krasnogorskiy zavod im. S. A. Zvereva”.
The problem was to suggest the technical solutions for modification of endosteal parts of large joints, to extend its durability, and develop a brand new endoprothesises design and tools for its installment.
The solution was founded. According to Maksim Ivanov, the head of BelSU “Nanostructural materials” Innovation center, the scientists created a porous glass-ceramic frame, able to enhance the physical mechanical characteristics of endoprothesis.
“Our technology is eco-friendly; it uses available and cheap chemical reagents. Porous bioactive coating stimulates development of the new bone tissue, increase cell cohesion with the surface of implants. Our coating increases the endoprothesises resistance to corrosive and bio environment and extend its durability”, – he said.
The preliminary tests are finished by now, and the final product, – endoprothesises of large joints with nanostructural bioactive porous coating – is ready to production.
The commercializing of new prothesises will begin at the end of this year by PAO “Krasnogorskiy zavod im. S. A. Zvereva”, the part of “Shvabe” holding.
