Students of BelSU represented Belgorod region on Sixth North Caucasian Youth Forum “Mashuk-2015” as part of the students’ unions state development program.
This year, “Mashuk” worked in three directions: “Development of youth’s self-government”, “Patriotic upbringing” and “Volunteering”. BelSU was represented by Marina Pyrieva, the student Biology and Chemistry Department, and Yulia Kolosova from Stariy Oskol branch of BelSU. They’ve attended the “Development of youth’s self-government” panels.
More than 2500 activists from North Caucasus and other Russian regions lived in a tent camp in Pyatigorsk, learned, talked, met famous sportsmen, politics, artists and social activists.
Among the honored guests were: legendary sportsman Fyodor Emelyanenko, Olympic champions Aleksei Nemov and Aleksandr Karelin, world’s famous boxer Konstantin Tszyu, famous actors Vitaliy Gogunskiy and Dmitriy Pevtsov, intellectual Anatoliy Vasserman, singer and produser Timathy, tamers Edgard and Askold Zapashnye and State Duma’s deputies Olga Timofeeva, Olga Kazakova and Mariya Kozhevnikova.
There were educational meetings, workshops and trainings by Russian Youth’s Union’s Student Youth Trainers Association. Every day was dedicated to one of the North Caucasus Federal District’s subjects: national food, art and craft festivals were held by all delegations.
“Mashuk” became not only an educational event for us. We discovered Caucasus anew; we met many interesting young people and celebrities, we saw the culture of Caucasus from inside: tasted Chechen Republic’s national food, danced to the national Dagestanian music, admired the beauty of Karachay-Cherkessian national costumes. “Mashuk” united Russia and reminded us that we, people from various regions, are together. It was, it is, and it will be so”, - said Yulia Kolosova.
