New academic year is here

According to a tradition, the Knowledge Day at BelSU has begun with the march of Academic Board and undergraduates from the Cathedral of Transfiguration and through the central streets of Belgorod. The march was concluded by the students’ meeting, dedicated to the beginning of the new academic year.

The students and teachers were greeted by The Principal Prof. Oleg Polukhin, Dr.sc.pol.

“Today we accept you into our mutual house. We were trying to make it comfortable and renovated the classrooms, dorms and halls. We are glad that you joined our big friendly BelSU family and our traditions. Every year we accept the best graduates, who received the highest score in USE. We are trying to bring up highly qualified and in-demand specialists by uniting the best graduates with the best teachers. Throughout all the years of study, our teaching stuff shall help and keep you. I wish you not to not to miss an opportunity to participate in scientific, creative and sports events, and strive for new knowledge”, – said The Principal.

The students enjoyed the patriotic performance of BelSU performance group “31 region” and classic ballroom-dances ensemble “Terpsichore – Alisa”, the sports ballroom-dances ensemble “Belogorochka” and “Veresk” art-studio.

Then, the first-year students received a symbolical Key to Knowledge from The Principal.

The Student Council of BelSU also made a speech for freshmen. The council promised them an interesting and busy campus life. They also brought sunflowers as the symbol of happiness and knowledge.

The freshmen swore an oath and promised to respect and obey the university’s traditions.   

The first symbolical bell was rang by the freshmen Polina Doronina from Medical Institute and Aleksandr Khodeev from Institute of Law.

The meeting ended with the BelSU’s anthem and release of red, blue and white balloons.
