Researchers of mass-media and journalists from Russia and foreign countries became the participants of International research and practice conference “Mediaresearch: XXI century. Traditional and new paradigms of mass-media’s scientific cognition” at BelSU Journalism department
This is a 9th annual research and practice conference of that kind, which took place at BelSU. This year it is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of BelSU Journalism Department.
More than 60 leading mass-media specialists fr om Russia, Kazakhstan, Belorussia, Ukraine and Poland applied to the conference. They sent their research works, which were added to the university digest. Vice director for science of St. Petersburg State University High School of Journalism and Mass Communication Prof. Sergei Korkonosenko, Dr. Sc. pol., director of University of Bergamo Russian Language Institute (Italy) Prof. Ugo Persi, DLitt, head of Silesian University Journalism Subdepartment (Poland) Prof. Marian Gerula, Dr. Hum., and honored cultural worker of Russian Federation Sergei Torchinskiy.
In his opening speech, Vice provost for science and innovations Andrei Peresypkin said, that media conference is one of the largest education grounds for press tribe of the country and the world, wh ere they can exchange their experience. According to his speech, this event became possible thanks to BelSU Journalism Department. This department has been exist at the university for ten years, but is already a center of education for young and experienced journalists. He also told about the history of BelSU, its achievements in science and significant role of Journalism department.
‘Journalism department take an active part in university’s projects, for example, SCOU Network. So, the department not only takes important place in global informational space, but also influence the international image of the university”, – he said.
Professor of Journalism Department Aleksandr Korochenskiy told colleagues about the educational and research work (on federal and international level) of the department. The scientists have also discussed medialingvistics, mediacritics and discursology. The Department proactively cooperates with federal and international level researchers, and it improves the ways of science and education development.
Chairman of regional Journalists Union Aleksandr Khodeev thanked the staff of the Department for long-term productive work. He noted that nowadays it provides qualified specialists to all regional media. Besides, all staff members of the regional media train there.
“Regional mass-media fully and fairly covers all significant event of city and region. We have achieved this level of professionalism partly because of educational training program of BelSU Journalism Department”, – he said.
The conference went on to the 25th of September. There were panels for “Communicative and discurse media research: modern order of business and perspectives of scientific research”, “Mediacritics and mediapedagogics”, “Aesthetics of mass-media”, “History and modern state of regional journalism”, “Medialingvistic research: experience and perspective”.
