Students’ Office, equipped with new interactive equipment was opened at the main building of BelSU
Students’ Office has opened its doors for the students union of the university. The grand opening was visited by the Principal of BelSU Oleg Polukhin, vice-rector for cukture and education Svetlana Ostrikova, head of International Connections Department Mikhail Trubitsyn etc.
The Principal cut the red ribbon, congratulated students and noted that the administration of the university tries to turn students’ dream about special space into reality.
“Students’ office was created as part of classroom pool. There are several nominal classrooms and we will continue this work: we will create specially equipped places where our students and teachers would gather to work on their projects, discuss important questions or simply rest”, – he said.
New office is a space for work and leisure. There are conference-hall, meetings room, kitchen and recreation zone. According to rector’s office plan, it was created for students to use it as the place for students’ union gatherings. Besides, there is a conference-connection with every corner of the world.
During the tea party with the Principal, students thanked the staff of the university for the special space and discussed problems and perspective of students self-government and interactions between university’s administration and activists. They were also concerned with the problems of academic mobility.
The Principal answered that for the next two years no less than 25% of students should have an opportunity to take part in international academic exchange programs and know foreign languages on a good level.
After the discussion of the important questions, participants have agreed about the forming of suggestions about the students’ unions’ further development.
New meeting at the office will take place in the end of October. The students will present their projects about improvement of informational, scientific, creative and other spheres of students’ life.
