Pilot Projects of BelSU Nanostructure Materials Centre were presented at XIII Russian-Chinese symposium

The symposium was organized by Russian Academy of Science, Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations and Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research. It was dedicated to new materials, technologies and development of scientific working connections, developments and attraction of young scientists.

Scientific program of the symposium included 20 plenary reports (10 for Chinese scientists and 10 for Russian scientists). Among them was a report of The Head of BelSU Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies Subdepartment prof. Yuri Kolobov, Dr. Sci. In Physics and Mathematics “Derivation, structure and characteristics of composite materials based on surface-modified titanium alloy with bioactive/bioinert coating for medical implants and endoprosthetics”. The scientists of Russia and China have taken great interest in it.

In his report, Prof. Kolobov told about cooperative work of BelSU and RAS academic institutes in Chernogolovka on the project of serial production of large joints’ endoprosrosthetics with porous bioactive coating. This product was ordered by Krasnogorsk Zverev Plant and conducted with state support.

Prof. Kolobov has also introduced new methods of titanium’s modifications and improvement of its biological properties by forming of protecting of bioactive and bioinert coatings to the audience. Preclinical tests of such implants were successful.

BelSU has also developed an original technology of nanohydroxilapatite in form of water and spirit colloids, suspensions and gels of various densities. Now, nanohydroxilapatite is used as one of components of next-gen dental project “nanofluor”, developed and introduced by “VladMyVa” company from Belgorod.

At the end of the conference, the agreement with Chinese Basic Metal Institute (Beijing) was scheduled, and Prof. Kolobov was invited to the institute for the discussions about these matters,
