Plants protection was discussed at BelSU

More than 40 representatives of major Russian and regional agricultural organizations interested in the project. It came into operation this year as part of agricultural biologization project. It contemplates research of plants protection an production of specialized means of protection.

The Principal of BelSU Prof. Oleg Polukhin reminded that Belgorod Region remains one of the best colleges in country in agricultural development. The idea of soil remediation was presented here for the first time. He has also noted that the project can be brought into life only by qualified specialists and promised that BelSU can train and retrain such specialists.

“This project we participate in would benefit for the agricultural sphere of all country. We understand that its realization is necessary today”, – he said.

Initiative of BelSU was encouraged by director of All-Russian Institute of Plant Protection (St. Petersburg) Vladimir Pavlushin. In his opinion, the project should be realized not only in technological but also in fundamental area.

“It is good that BelSU takes part in this serious process and shoulder some significant functions”, – he said.

During the plenary meeting participants heard a number of reports about plant protection, phytosanitary in Russia and Central Region and return of forgotten crops. They’ve also discussed development of integrated systems of plant protection and perspective of the project.
