A Legal Consulting Centre of BelSU Institute of Law now has a new, up-to-date office. The Principal of BelSU Prof. Oleg Polukhin has cut the red ribbon at the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony became one in a row of events dedicated to 140th Anniversary of BelSU in 2016.
The Centre was created in 2001. The students of Institute of Law works there and provide free consulting services in civil law, real estate law, family law, administrative and inheritance law. No less than 1000 clients apply there each year, and consultants file more than 2,5 thousands of service documents. Young lawyers do not just consult their clients – they also defend them in court. The Principal considers it as an important students’ enterprise.
“This project is time-proved. The most significant thing in it is its dedication to help. You are not only help those in need, – you get valuable skills and this experience would help you to build your future career”, – he said.
A regional attorney Nikolai Savrun also mentioned the significance of the Centre, and reminded that graduates from Institute of Law were always valuable at labor market.
“The Institute of Law has high quality of training: there are many BelSU graduates in law enforcement authorities. Such level of skills depend not only on theoretical knowledge but also on practice students get at the university”, – he said.
The key personnel of the Centre consists of 30 students and masters from Institute of Law. They are supervised by teachers of the Civil Law Subdepartment. Director of the Centre, first-year master-degree student Aleksei Gladkiy told that new office helped to expandthe list of services: for example, young lawyers consult on the social protection problems. They are especially proud of cooperation with major regional media.
